누구에게나 처음이 있을 테다. 불안하고 서투르고 익숙하지 않지만, 그만큼 열정적이고 순수한, 처음. 그 처음이라는 경험 속 감정의 형태는 무슨 색을 나타내고 어떤 향을 머금었으며 어느 때에 나에게 일어난 일인지에 따라 형태의 이미지는 각인된다. 돌이켜보면 그것은 ‘누구’와 ‘왜’보다도 ‘나’라는 존재 자체의 영역에서 더 큰 의미가 있지 않을까. 그 순간은 잊을 수 없는 소중한 무언가로 삶에서 무의식적인 영향을 끼칠 것이다. 사실 훗날 돌이켜 그것이 처음의 순간이었다는 것을 알았다면 무턱대고 무모하게 시작하지 않았을 테지. 처음이었기에 나를 온전히 ‘무엇’에게 내어줄 수 있는 순간, 나는 그것이 ‘Call Me by Your Name’을 할 수 있는 순간이라 생각된다.
작가는 타투이스트이자 회화 작가이다. 그녀에게 타투라는 표현은 기억을 각인하는 작업이자 표현 작업 세계의 도구이다. 오일 파스텔로 그려나간 드로잉은 그녀의 자유로움과 나른함, 그리고 작은 불안함, 그럼에도 파릇한 열정이 샘솟아 있다. 작가로서의 첫 개인전인 이번 전시가 그녀에겐 서투를 수 있었겠지만 그만큼 귀한 처음이다.
이 귀한 떨림을 관객들이 부디 놓치지 않길 바라며, 그 누구보다 전시가 마무리될 즈음에, 영화 ‘Call Me by Your Name’의 주인공이 벽난로 앞에서 눈물을 흘리는 그 장면. (처음이 내 앞을 지나가는 것에 약간의 슬픔과, 나를 알게 된 기쁨이 동시에 느껴져 벅차지는 그 감정을) 작가가 꼭 느끼길 바라본다.
There must be a first time for everyone will have a first time. Anxious, clumsy, and unfamiliar, but as passionate and pure as it is, the first time. The form of emotion in the first experience is imprinted according to what color it represents, what scent it contains, and when it happened to me. Looking back, it's "Who" and... Wouldn't it be more meaningful in the realm of "me" itself than "why"?That moment will have an unconscious effect on life with something unforgettable. In fact, if I had known that it was the first moment in the future, I wouldn't have started recklessly. It was my first time, so I think it's the moment when I can give myself up to "What," and I think it's the moment when I can do "Call Me by Your Name." The artist is a tattooist and painter. For her, the expression tattoo is a work of imprinting memories and a tool in the world of expression work. The drawing drawn in oil pastels exudes her freedom, laziness, and little anxiety, and yet a green passion. This exhibition, the first individual exhibition as a writer, could have been clumsy for her, but it is her first time. I hope the audience won't miss this precious nervousness, and I hope the writer will feel the scene where the main character of the movie Call Me by Your Name sheds tears in front of the fireplace (a little sadness at the same time and the joy of knowing me).
